Harnesses or collar and lead

Harnesses or collar and lead

Postby Jshepherd » Wed Mar 27, 2019 8:14 pm

We were in pets at home this evening and debating between harnesses or just a normal lead?

What does everyone recommend? Echo is only 10 weeks so it was just so she is used to something for when we go for walks.

We always used collar and leads with all our other dogs but looking at photos on here a lot of tamaskans have harnesses on

Thankyou

It is really up to you as a personal preference. I have used both successfully :D

We use both. Jorel has his collar on for training sessions and his harness when we are out and about - good for busy areas as he can't accidentally 'escape' and good for in the woods when he won't get out of the river and I have to scoop him out by the harness when it's time to go home :)

Am lucky that he was never a pulling dog - he walks really well in both, but much more to heel in the collar as he is used to that from training.
