Hello from the Scottish Borders

Postby Birksy » Fri Sep 29, 2017 8:34 pm

Hi everyone,

We are due to collect our Tamaskan pup from Blustag in just under two weeks. In an effort to be as prepared as possible, I may be popping up asking questions elsewhere on the forum so thought it only polite to do a quick intro.

We live out in the hills in the Tweed Valley in the Scottish Borders. A family of five that are all fairly obsessive about mountain biking and most things outdoors. I grew up with German Shepherds and have always thought wolves to be beautiful and majestic animals, so when I learnt of the Tamaskan breed I was immediately drawn to it.

We're going through the search for a name at the moment and think we've settled on something. In an effort to find something that draws on both Scandinavian and Scots , we've come up with Tyra Cana (to be called Tyra) which broadly translates as Thunder Wolf.

The kids want to call her Steve. :)

If you need anything don't be afraid to ask, we also have a tamaskan Facebook chat which can be fun but it does tend to cause your phone to seriously keep binging all day LOL

Hi and welcome.
Remember to post lots of amazing puppy pics, makes everyone else broody and jealous :D

Also if you're interested we have a UK chat on fb messenger for owners. It's great for getting loads of different ideas for training and also for getting to know people all across the UK.

Excellent, we'll have to find out where they are when we visit.

Our final preparations for Thursday are being made. Looking forward to meeting you, Tyra and the other dogs and pups.

A long trip home, but I'm pleased to say that Tyra is settling into her new life nicely. Kids and dogs all love her.
